Casino Reviews: How We Test, Rate & Review Non-GamStop Sites
Every casino we cover is put through the same hands-on test before it earns a review. This page explains exactly how we test, how we score, who does the work — and links to every non-GamStop casino we've reviewed so far.
Every casino we've reviewed

Our editorial principles
Casino Not on GamStop UK is independent. Operators cannot pay for a rating, a place on a list, or to have criticism removed. We run affiliate links — that's how the site is funded — but commercial relationships never change a score, and we'll happily rank a brand we earn nothing from above one we do when it's the better casino.
- No operator-supplied copy. Reviews are written from our own testing, not from a brand's press kit.
- No pay-to-play rankings. Position is earned on merit, not on commission rates.
- We publish the bad with the good. Slow withdrawals, predatory bonus terms and weak support get said plainly.
- We're upfront about the trade-off. Offshore casinos sit outside UK GamStop and UKGC protection — we explain that risk in every review.
How we review a casino
A review is only published after we've used the casino end-to-end with a real account and real money. The process is the same for every brand so the ratings stay comparable:
- Sign-up & verification. We create an account and note how much friction there is, what documents are requested, and when KYC is triggered.
- Deposit. We fund the account and record accepted methods, minimums, fees and processing speed — cards, e-wallets and crypto where offered.
- Play. We work through the lobby: slot and table depth, the software providers behind the games, live-dealer quality, and the licence the operator holds.
- Bonuses. We claim a welcome offer, read the terms in full, and check whether wagering requirements, game weightings and max-bet rules are enforced fairly.
- Withdrawal. The most important test: we request a cash-out and record the real timing, any limits or fees, and whether extra verification appears only at the payout stage.
- Support. We contact live chat and email with genuine questions and time the responses.
- Re-test. Reviews are revisited periodically and updated when terms, ownership or payout behaviour change.
How we rate (and what each factor is worth)
Each casino is scored against six weighted factors. Withdrawals and safety carry the most weight because they're what actually protect a player's money:
- 25%Safety, licensing & fairnessWho licenses the operator, ownership transparency, RNG/audited games, and track record on disputes.
- 20%Withdrawals & paymentsReal cash-out speed, limits, fees, the range of deposit/withdrawal methods, and whether KYC is handled up front.
- 20%Games & softwareCatalogue depth, quality of providers, live-dealer tables and how often new titles land.
- 15%Bonuses & fair termsHeadline value matters less than realistic wagering, sensible max-bet caps and clear, enforceable terms.
- 10%Customer supportAvailability, response time and whether agents actually resolve the question.
- 10%Mobile & usabilityHow well the site works on a phone, load speed, and how easy it is to find games and cash out.
What our scores mean
- 4.5–5.0Excellent — fast, fair and safe enough that we'd use it ourselves and recommend it without caveats.
- 3.5–4.4Good — solid all-rounder with minor trade-offs we flag in the review.
- 2.5–3.4Mixed — usable, but with real weaknesses (slow payouts, harsh terms) you should weigh up first.
- Below 2.5Avoid — we found problems serious enough that we can't recommend depositing.
When we update reviews
Offshore operators change ownership, payment partners and bonus terms more often than UK-licensed brands, so a review is a snapshot, not a permanent verdict. We re-test the casinos in our main toplist on a rolling basis, refresh the page when something material changes, and date every review so you can see how current it is. If an operator's payout behaviour deteriorates, its score comes down.
Who writes our reviews
Reviews are researched and written by Sarah Hall, who runs the testing for this site from a UK player's perspective. The aim is simple: rank what we'd recommend to a friend after a real deposit and a real withdrawal — not what the marketing sheet claims.
A note on safety
Casinos reviewed here are not on GamStop, which means they sit outside the UK self-exclusion scheme and UKGC oversight. If you've self-excluded, please don't use these sites. Everyone should play within their limits — see our responsible gambling guidance, and free, confidential help is available from GamCare and BeGambleAware. 18+ only.
